The town of Figueres is about an hour on the train away from Barcelona. As towns go, it's pretty ordinary, but the mid-day train disgorged dozens of people, all heading in one direction. We followed, being clueless as to where we should be going. Hopefully, there would be someone leading a tour group to our destination.
Figueres main attraction to outsiders is the Salvador Dali museum. This is something that he designed and built himself, not simply a collection of work put together by a collector.
Like many original thinkers, it's easy to assume that the man wasn't playing with a full deck. With many of his exhibits, I simply wondered "What kind of man could concieve of such an idea". Madman or genius? I don't care. What he's left behind is far better art than dead sheep pickled in formaldehyde.
